Job Description for Lighting Advisor

Job Title – Lighting Advisor
Grade / Salary Range: dependant on age and experience.
Responsible and accountable to: the directors of Lighting Bug (Swindon) Ltd.

AIMS: To provide skilled and knowledgeable lighting advice to customers of Lighting Bug (Swindon) Ltd. Working 4 days out of 6 Monday – Saturday. 9.15am – 5.15pm (26 -30 hours per week) No Sunday Working

Key Element – To provide excellent customer service whilst maintaining all the company’s policies and procedures
1. Serving customers: demonstrating goods within the shop. This may require the removal of goods displayed on the ceiling or trying various shades on various fittings, handling money and offer to help customers with their goods to their car

2. Answering the telephone in a courteous and professional manner

3. Stock control: receiving goods delivered to the warehouse, checking orders into the warehouse, and then storing the order correctly within the warehouse. Picking, packing and dispatching orders ready for collection. Identifying stock shortages within the display area and replacing them from the warehouse as appropriate

4. Display areas: put goods out on display, both on the ceiling and shelving, instruction given by a director

5. Operating EPOS system, web applications and tablets

6. Daily walk around the showroom checking for display changes, checking all lamps are working and a high level of general cleanliness is maintained

7. Cleaning: maintain a high level of cleanliness in the display areas, and take part in the cleaning rota for the centre, staff room, office and toilets

Following Training:
7. Production of sales tickets for the showroom
8. Produce tickets for the warehouse stock
9. Balancing the till as required
10. Assemble lighting fittings and test light fittings
11. Stocktaking, putting information on the computer system
12. Data imputing on the computer system
13. Processing Internet orders, picking and packing ready for dispatch
14. Following training, may lead to a shift supervisor role
