About the role: Esports TeacherActivate Learning has an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and creative Esports Teacher to join our teaching team based at Guildford College. You will be responsible for teaching across Level 2 and Level 3 Esports courses on UAL specifications.Activate Learning recognises the demand in the next generation of gaming and sports industries combined. Esports has seen tremendous growth in recent years and due to the ever-growing success, we are seeking to appoint an additional member of staff to the team.The post holder will be required to have a range of abilities within Esports including community and social management, content creation, and broadcasting. You will also act as a personal tutor and study programme owner, providing pastoral and academic support to our students.You will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons. Our students are eager to learn, and we want to appoint someone who can provide them with a high level of knowledge and skills, that they can utilise in their careers or progression to university.This is a permanent, full-time role, working 37 hours a week (1.0 FTE).What do you need to be successful as an Esports Teacher at Activate Learning?Whilst previous teaching experience and qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or industry experience to teach and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.You will be responsible for providing expectational mentoring and pastoral support to our students throughout the duration of their course. You will have the ability to plan and deliver high quality and engaging lessons to a diverse group of learners and to carry out initial and on-going assessments to ensure the students are on track with their learning goals and achieving excellent results.• It is desirable if you have a PGCE and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential• You will have worked in the industry and are an Esports specialist• You will have a passion for using this experience to develop the skills of the future generationIn addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
