Summary

Helena Biosciences is a leading and well established medical diagnostic company, with an international reputation comprising two flagship business divisions that specialise in the design, manufacture and support of Clinical Electrophoresis and Haemostasis systems.

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Role Summary:
To provide assistance and support in the design, implementation and support of the I.T network to maintain network connectivity.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in network design and implementation.
• Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
• Install and configure computer network equipment.
• Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations.
• Provide network and systems support to users.
• Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.
• Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources.
• Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up.
• Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
• Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
• Create and maintain network users/permissions.
• Create technical support documentation for systems and applications.

Key Skills Required:
• HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in computer science, computer platforms or a related field.
• 3+ years experience in a network administrator role
• Previous experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and up (AD/DHCP/DNS), P2V and Microsoft 365
• Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
• Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills
• Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Must be a capable self-starter.
• Knowledge of computing infrastructures
• Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability
• Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
• Competent in the use of the Microsoft Dynamics and Windows programs including Word, Excel and Power Point
• Cyber Security Essentials and Watchguard Firewall experience desirable but not essential
• Able to work well within a team.
• Good communicator with all levels of the organisation.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to priority plan.
• Flexible

This vacancy is permanent, full time Monday to Friday (daytime hours) and based at our Gateshead Site.

Salary: Competitive Remuneration Package (negotiable depending upon skills and experience)
