Summary
The successful applicant will work as part of an established team providing advice, support and guidance to international students, including but not limited to, the provision of immigration advice.
The duties and responsibilities are wide-ranging and require thorough knowledge of UK Home Office Immigration Regulations in the context of Higher Education. These include the provision of accurate and compliant immigration advice to students and dependants in accordance with OISC levels, effective response to enquiries received from students, undertaking of casework and associated caseload management, the provision of advice and support which contributes to an enhanced student experience and working with team members to ensure the successful operation and advancement of the International Advice Team.
You will lead on a particular area of advice or professional interest to meet the needs of the students and the team. Cross-university collaboration is required and will include working closely with the Visa Compliance Team, our partners at ONCAMPUS Aston and other colleagues across the University at all levels.
In order to succeed in this broad and varied role, you must be confident in your knowledge of UK Home Office Regulations and your ability to advise and assist students. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you must also have strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively maintain your own caseload, meet multiple deadlines and contribute to the effective operation of the International Advice Team throughout the year.
This role requires satisfactory DBS (The Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
The salary being offered for this role is below the minimum threshold for required to sponsor new applicants to the Skilled Worker route. However, Aston University may be able to sponsor the successful candidate if they:
• Are under 25 years old
• Have held a Student or Graduate visa in the last 2 years
• Are already in the UK with a Tier 2 or Skilled Worker visa
