An exciting position has arisen to work as part of the RD&I team as a Senior Studies Set Up Officer. The post holder will provide comprehensive, organisational support to the R&D Research Contracts Manager and R&D Senior Management team and take responsibility for research studies going through the capacity and capability review system.
The Senior Studies Set Up Officer will also support the R&D Research Contracts Manager in ensuring complex finances are negotiated and agreed, and that trial information has been uploaded to the RADICO web portal for all commercial studies to enable prompt reimbursement of all study costs.
This position will require working using your own initiative and involves close liaison with researchers across Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust (RCHT) & Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), the Research Delivery Network (RDN) and external agencies across the UK.
The post holder will have excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise their own workload as well as being part of a team. Extensive research study project management experience; research governance (including HRA processes) and research costing experience are desirable.
This post is for 12 months.
Support the R&D Contracts Manager on the prompt and accurate set up of all Cornwall’s (RCHT, CPFT & Primary Care) research studies from expressions of interest (EOI) stage through to confirming capacity and capability.
Support the Research Sponsorship Facilitator and R&D Contract Manager with the setting up of new sponsored research studies as appropriate.
Manage a dynamic workload and be able to constantly prioritise (work patterns can be highly unpredictable) by liaising closely with the R&D Contracts Manager, providing regular updates on the progress on studies and identifying any barriers to assessing, arranging and confirming capacity and capability.
