Deck Rating (Moor)-Marine Operations SupportPermanent, Full time, 48 hours per week4 weeks on 4 weeks off

Serco have an exciting opportunity for a Deck Rating to join the Mooring Marine Operations Support team in Plymouth, Devon.
The key purpose of the role is to act as the main labour force on board their appointed Mooring vessel. Reporting to the Mooring Superintendent, you will carry out a range of duties in the task of assisting in the safe operation of the vessel and Moorings maintenance.

Main Accountabilities:


- Berthing/slipping of the vessel
- Ship husbandry tasks
- Ship operational tasks and Moorings maintenance tasks
- Cleaning tasks as directed
- Drive/operate deck machinery including cranes
- Assist in repair and routine planned maintenance of ship's equipment
- Machinery care, routine maintenance of ship's equipment
- To be fully conversant with the use of all safety equipment, emergency procedures and contingency plans.
- Aware of company Safety management system
- Be familiar with safety routines and ensure necessary safeguards are in place before any maintenance/repair work commences

What you’ll need to do the role:


- AB certificate of competence
- STCW Personal Survival Techniques (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats (5 year refresher course)
- STCW Elementary First aid
- Power Boat level 2
- ENG1
- Methodical in approach
- Good standard of education
