We’re committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve, so welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds. We promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive culture where everyone feels valued.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a programme that will see the business transition over the next few years to a new system that our whole organisation will use. The new system will transform how we work, and the Synergy Team will be at the heart of leading this.
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic analyst with a strong focus on risk and assurance to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing and improving business processes for Synergy while ensuring that risks are identified, managed and controlled.
You will:
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to undertake research and analysis to understand how a business or business area works, with specific reference to the data they use or generate.
• identify, assess and report on business risks to support decision making and assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk mitigation strategies to provide assurance to our senior leaders.
• identify and elaborate user and business needs to enable effective design, development and testing of services and business change.
• explore feasible options, analyse the effects of change and define success measures.
• document requirements as well as developing reports, papers and presentations to support our strategic outcomes for Synergy.
The team
The EA Synergy team is a new team established to deliver a significant programme over a number of years, so it’s an exciting time to join us.
We are part of the EA’s Corporate Management, Assurance, and Security Team who manage the relationship with corporate services, oversee the corporate approach to good governance and decision-making groups as well as our organisational resilience, business continuity management and security.
Experience/skills required
• Enthusiasm for problem solving and can demonstrate how you proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver to tight timescales and quality.
• Ability to lead on the modelling of processes, systems and data at varying levels of detail or complexity.
• Excellent communication skills and can build strong and effective stakeholder relationships.
• Frame problems so they can easily be understood, and troubleshoot where required, to support the business in operating more effectively.
• Documented conceptual models to support strategic planning and decision making.
• A strong understanding of business perspectives and technical concepts and can bring them together to form recommendations and a common understanding
Desirable
• Relevant Business Analyst qualifications and/or demonstrate equivalent experience.
• Good organisational knowledge and understanding of the changes and priorities facing the Environment Agency; and/or experience in Change Management
