Summary
Job Title: Bakery Supervisor
Location: Outskirts of Yeovil, Somerset
Position: Full-time (35 - 40 hours per week), typically 4 days per week, with occasional work on Fridays.
Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour
Work Schedule:
• Monday to Thursday, 5:30am to 3:30pm
• Occasional shorter days on Fridays based on production needs
• Schedule may vary according to production requirements
About the Role: This is a hands-on, practical role, leading the bake team. We are looking for someone with strong food production experience, preferably in the baking industry, to join the small, friendly team. You'll be involved in a variety of tasks, from preparing and baking to assisting with new food development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the baking team in weighing ingredients, preparing dough, rolling, dressing, cutting, and baking.
• Monitor and manage baking times in a rack oven, followed by cooling and packaging.
• Accurately weigh ingredients and maintain records, with the ability to lift up to 25kg.
• Ensure cleanliness of utensils, equipment, and the production area, and manage waste disposal.
• Record key data, including temperatures, yields, and goods-in information.
• Operate a forklift to handle deliveries.
• Collaborate on developing new food concepts for our brand.
• Play a crucial role in maintaining food safety standards and procedures.
• Support other areas of production, including packing, and assist in process improvements.
Training:
• In-house training on baking and cooking processes
• External training available for forklift license, HACCP, and food hygiene certification

Person Specification:
• Essential: Good practical food production experience, ideally in baking, with food hygiene level 2 and HACCP level 2 certification (or willingness to train)
• Preferred: Previous bakery experience or a solid understanding of baking principles
• Clean and tidy appearance at all times, with a commitment to food safety
• Physical fitness required for a physically demanding role
• A friendly and team-oriented attitude to contribute to a positive work environment
