Summary
An opportunity like this doesn’t come up often…as we are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and collaborative Clinical Pharmacy Technician Manager to lead our clinical pharmacy technician team and medicines management (MM) services, across the busy York & Scarborough hospital sites.
Heading up a large team, you will provide dynamic leadership and support to all pharmacy staff working within clinical services, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
To ensure cross site impact, you will be closely supported by an experienced deputy principal Pharmacy Technician on each site, and will develop close working links with our other operational pharmacy technician service leads who are key to the running of our successful department.
Reporting to the Principal Pharmacist-Clinical Services, you will have responsibility for shaping our comprehensive clinical medicines management & medicines optimisation support service, to progress our clinical strategic priorities and new ways of working to always ensure a patient focused, safe and responsive clinical service.

The role of the successful candidate will include:
• Reporting, monitoring and analysing clinical KPIs and performance statistics, to ensure working practices are appropriate to maintain efficient operation of the medicines management service.
• Participating in the departmental clinical learning monitoring group to ensure that near misses and incidents are reviewed and actioned appropriately, and learning is embedded into practice to reduce risks, prevent re-occurrence, and support medication and patient safety.
• To be involved in and/or conduct clinical pharmacy practice research, under the direction of the Deputy Chief Pharmacist.
• Identifying, planning and implementing audits to support with service improvements.
• Reviewing and implementing new and current SOPs and training documents.
• Mentoring and supporting the training of Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians, Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistants and other members of staff.
• Participation in the weekend and bank holiday rotas as a Team Leader.
As this is a cross site role you will be required to regularly work each week at your non-base site, and travel is supported. Full time hours are available, we will consider part time hours but applicants should be able to work a minimum of 30 hours over 4 days, preferably within our core hours (08:45-17:15).
