Summary

Our team in Balham are looking for a Community Mission Facilitator to further the mission of The Salvation Army in Balham and the surrounding Wandsworth Borough, its spiritual and community programme by ensuring it is motivated by the example of Jesus, and that The Salvation Army in Wandsworth Borough continues to provide safe spaces where all people are loved, nurtured, encouraged, and supported to become the people God wants them to be.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate the weekly programme during working hours.
Assist in planning, design, resourcing, and implementation of specific missional programmes that compliment those already active within the building.
Support people who present with a range of needs. This could include giving practical assistance, offering prayer or chaplaincy support.
Engaging in Spiritual Leadership
Networking and partnership working with the local authority, other churches, and community groups.
Recruiting and supporting volunteers.
Administrative tasks.
Maintaining records.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
A strong, vibrant Christian faith
Excellent interpersonal skills
A passion to support people
The ability to maintain efficient record-keeping systems
The ability to work efficiently as part of a team
Integrity and confidentiality
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
