Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare a wide range of materials and equipment/tools for use by teachers and students in the classroom/workshops; such as paints, screen printing, ceramics, plastics and textiles, etc.

Clean and undertake basic maintenance routines on equipment and tools used in the classrooms/workshops; such as photographic equipment, kilns, sewing machines and other electrical items etc. Regularly check for faults (especially electrical); and arrange for annual servicing of machines and equipment.

Assume responsibility for the safe storage of students’ work and for stocks of materials within the Art and Technology Departments of the School.

Undertake stocktaking, replenishment ordering and storage of materials, under the direction of teachers.

Provide support to teachers and students during lessons in the use of equipment and machines such as the dark room and printing press.

Mount students’ work for GCSE exhibitions – mount displays of such work in classrooms and around school.

Undertaking additional administrative duties as required and to support the work of the faculty e.g. tidying work areas, labelling and packing examination practical work.
