The Opportunity:

We are seeking a 24 month post-doctoral research associate in modelling multihazard cascades in the Himalaya. The position is part of an interdisciplinary project focusing on the dynamic risk generated by sediment cascades from landslides, debris flows and river flooding. Research will focus on a combination of numerical models capable of exploring the interactions between these processes. This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

-Ability to run mathematical models and interpret the outputs
-Ability to analyse spatial data
-Up-to-date understanding of hazard and risk
-Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing
-Good organisational skills and attention to detail
