Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and dedicated QC Chemist to join a small team in Nottingham. As a QC Chemist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sample analysis and generate accurate reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to address inquiries and provide support.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration.
- Manage laboratory stock levels and reagents.
- Learn and implement new analytical techniques and methods.
- Train new staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including BAPS, Aquacheck, and internal proficiency testing.
- Assist with investigations and non-conformances.
- Adhere to ISO 17025 standards and maintain UKAS accreditation.
- Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment.
- Support other departments as needed.
- Prioritise safety and comply with all safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience in a laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and regulations
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
