Summary
Job title: Personal Assistant
Location: Bridgend
Hours of work: 5 hours a week
Rate of pay: £12.75 per hour
Introduction:
A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a lady in the community.
Hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance.
This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable me to manage my support with the assistance of a PA, enabling me to live an independent lifestyle. Training can be provided as required and where available. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence and be DBS checked.
Main Duties:
• Support with activities of interest – going to gym, cinema, swimming, going to concerts (occasional evening work) clothes shopping, and any other social interest.
• Always ensure safety during your working period.
• Support with minimal personal care – after swimming drying hair and body to ensure I’m dry.
• Become a friend and engage in conversations.
• Local to the area would be beneficial
• To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.
• No smoking in enclosed spaces due to asthma.

• Active and energetic.
• Proactive individual with local knowledge.
• A good sense of humour.
• Caring, honest, responsible, reliable and patient.
• Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
• Reliable with good time keeping.
• Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
• An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills.
A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
Benefits
5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).
Sick pay at SSP rate.
Training provided if required, where available.
This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant.
