With a National shortage of Teaching Assistants, to work in Primary Schools, Hays Education is looking to support schools with alternative options. We are looking to support people into a new role. If you have a passion and experience of supporting children or adults, it can sometimes be difficult to break into a career in Education; due to minimal or no recent/previous experience in a classroom setting.


Your new role
Your background and experience, as an example, may come from:

  • Social/Care work
  • Health care professional
  • Extended career break from teaching or support roles and would love to return!
  • Personal life experiences - direct care for a family member or friend

Hays Education have developed a training programme and have partnered with Schools across Bury, Oldham and Rochdale, who are happy to support completion of the course; that will not only provide you with a wealth of knowledge about education and safeguarding, but also incorporates first-hand PAID experience in the classroom.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated candidates, with various backgrounds, who are committed to developing their knowledge and skills and willing to step out of their comfort zone and go the extra mile to pursue a career in Education.


Are you interested?

Roles may be;

  • In Mainstream Primary Schools - with a high percentage of pupils with special needs and disabilities
  • Supporting the whole class, groups of children, on a 121 basis
  • Supporting pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilites
  • including
  • SEMH - (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
  • Generic Learning Difficulties
  • Specific Provision - HI (Hearing impairment) VI (Visual Impairment) ASC (Autism) PMLD (Profound and multiple Learning Disabilities) SLD/PD (Significant learning difficulties/Physical disabilities)
