Summary

Duties and Responsibilities Clinical: 1. To manage patients by running specific clinic sessions. 2. Work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all chronic disease patients are monitored in line with current clinical guidelines. 3. Provide the following patient care and services (please note, this list is not exhaustive) Contraceptive pill checks & Depo injections Chronic disease monitoring INR monitoring Spirometry Cervical Screening Vaccinations (childhood, adult & travel) Complex wound care Phlebotomy ECG's Health Checks 4. Break bad news to patients/parents/carers and provide appropriate ongoing support to meet identified needs. 5. Act as chaperone when required. 6. Undertake health promotion to help educate patients. 7. Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests. Administration: 8. To maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read/Snowmed Codes. 9. Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care. 10. To collect data and participate in regular Practice audit and research projects . 11. To contribute to the preparation of any Practice development plans. General: 12. To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to Code of Professional Conduct. 13. To maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all staff, patients, carers and co-workers. Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Health & Safety, COSHH, etc) are implemented and adhered to. 14. To promote a professional approach at all times by attire and attitude to patients and staff both in and out of the Practice. 15. To maintain own continuous professional development and ensure PDP kept up-to-date in line with the requirements of the Practice. 16. Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions. 17. Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time-to-time.
