Summary
Assist with Childcare Duties:
Support in providing care and supervision to children from infancy through early school age.
Assist in preparing and serving meals and snacks, ensuring food safety and hygiene.
Help plan and participate in activities that promote learning, creativity, and physical development, such as arts and crafts, storytelling, and outdoor play.
Change nappies, assist with potty training, and ensure good hygiene practices.
Provide comfort to children who may be upset or distressed and help manage their emotional well-being.
Safety and Supervision:
Supervise children at all times, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
Support in implementing safety measures and first-aid procedures as needed.
Maintain a clean and organised environment, ensuring toys and equipment are regularly cleaned and in good condition.
Developmental Support:
Encourage positive social interactions between children and help with behavioural management when necessary.
Assist in monitoring children’s development and reporting any concerns to the childminder.
Parent Communication:
Support the childminder in maintaining good relationships with parents by communicating about their child’s day and any significant events.
Occasionally assist with record-keeping, such as completing daily reports or updating developmental logs.
Administrative Duties:
Assist the childminder with basic administrative tasks, such as setting up play areas, tidying up, and helping to manage resources.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and safeguarding policies at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
A genuine interest in working with children.
Previous experience in a childcare setting is an advantage.
Basic first-aid training is desirable.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
A flexible, patient, and caring nature.
