Summary
On behalf of our Leicester Client, we are seeking to recruit NMH Support Worker, the role will support an induvial student to obtain a teaching qualification and her aspiration of becoming a teacher. This is a great opportunity for someone to gain experience the education sector with a reputable origination.
We are looking for a candidate is caring, empathetic and willing to help others to succeed in life and with the ability to be flexible to the needs of the client. Expected Start Date: ASAP with the role to be ongoing
Hourly Rate: £12.44 per hour and Holiday Pay: £1.50 per hour
Duties and responsibilities
Build rapport with the client and to support client with decision making
To provide auxiliary and administrative support to allow the client to learn, research and be able to undertake a PGCE Qualification
To support with online study, digital learning and submission of academic assignments
Support the client to navigate the use of assistive technology and use of digital platforms
Manage, position and deliver inventory and physical items to designated locations under the direction of the client
Prepare and support with lunches and refreshments as directed by the client
Assist the client to navigate through and to access buildings/facilities and to be able to locations and events
Assist the client with travel arrangements such as public transport and support carrying personal items/belongings/equipment
To support client to be able to attend in person, offsite training, events and conference’s locations
To effectively communicate and convey information to the client as well as to take effective notes
To assist with personal and domestic care needs
Skills and experience
GCSE and Functional Skills in English and Maths at Grade 4 and equivalent
Proven proficiency in both written and verbal English
Ability to follow instruction and effective active listening skills to support with learning
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail to support with assessments
Ability to remain calm and work under pressure
Sensitive in approach and able to deal with confidentiality
Demonstrable experience in care or learning support or equivalent
Level 2 Certificate, Diploma and Award in Care or equivalent qualification or experience
Understanding and experience of equities, diversity, dignity and safeguarding in adult social care
Level 2 or 3 Qualification in Notetaking for students in higher education or equivalent experience
Location
Nuneaton / Hinckley
The role will be based at the client home address which is Nuneaton/Hinckley and you will be expected to support with and travel to teaching conference. You must also be able to attend and travel to Leeds and or London on the following dates subject to change: The conference dates for this academic year are October (Friday), 16th January (Thursday) and March 11th (Tuesday).
