A young man in the Prudhoe area is looking to recruit an enabler to support him accessing his local community and further afield. The young man has a diagnosis of Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The successful applicant MUST be experienced in and have a secure understanding of supporting individuals with a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.
The family are looking for:
- Someone who is experienced and understands the person-centred approach.
- Someone who understands that it will take time to build up trust and has experience in building positive relationships
- Someone who can support accessing the local community and prevent the young man from becoming isolated
- Table tennis, cricket, pool & darts
- Loves art (his own characters, not looking at other people’s) The young man currently attends a fantastic outlet for his art 3 days a week.
- Rock music
The ideal applicant will:
- Be experienced supporting people with Autism and ADHD
- Be willing and physically able to support the young man to access the local gym and take on a more active lifestyle
- Be able to build a strong positive relation with the individual an applicant young at heart and more like a peer, would be preferred
- Be committed to promoting independence and encouraging social skill development
- Be adaptable and capable of implementing strategies to cope with developing situations
Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour Hours Breakdown:
- 12 – 5pm on a Friday with some flexibility
- Annual Leave is accrued pro rata at 5.6 weeks per year
