Job brief
We are looking for a competent Operations Manager to organise and oversee all security operations of our Heathrow Site. Security personnel will be under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.
As security manager, you will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. You will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. You will have a number of people under your responsibility, you must also exhibit leadership skills.
The goal is to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property are safe and well-protected.
Responsibilities
-All staff must be recruited and trained in accordance with the applicable elements of UK NASP or wider UK legislation for their role.
-All staff must be subject to CTC
-All planned activity must meet UK HSE regulations and be correctly risk assessed
-All company data must be handled in accordance with data privacy regulations and guidance.
-All process must comply with the requirements set out in LHR security programme and specific warehouse operating processes.
-Security agents should appear alert, confident and ready to respond at all times, providing a model for security behaviour.
-Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures
-Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
-Recruit, train and supervise security officers and guards
-Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
-Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
-Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
-Review reports on incidents and breaches
-Investigate and resolve issues
-Create reports for management on security status
-Analyse data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology)
Requirements and skills
-Proven experience as security manager or similar position
-Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV, X-RAY equipment)
-Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
-Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
-Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
-Working knowledge of MS Office
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
-Committed and reliable
-High school diploma: Further education in security administration or similar field will be an asset
Additional Information:
You will be responsible for but not limited to
-A 24/7 control room operation.
-Active monitoring of cargo handling and storage areas, airside and landside perimeters, including coordinating response to identified threats.
-Review and analysis of historic footage (usually no more than week old.
-Monitor and respond to security system alarms to coordinate a response from available resources
-Targeted investigations in support of security, safety, disciplinary and cargo recovery events.
-User maintenance and fault reporting
-Check (people and vehicles) are in permitted locations with valid credentials
-Check access points (doors, shutters, gates and emergency exits) are closed or being monitored by identified individual
-Check condition of stored cargo for signs of significant tampering and other signs of unlawful interference
-Challenge and validate suspicious activity or suspected unlawful presence on site
-Monitor for tailgating through any access point, including airside (inside out and outside in).
-Attend incidents and events identified from CCTV
