Job Title: Assistant Site Maintenance Engineer
Department: Operations
Resporting to: Site Maintenance Engineer
JOB PURPOSE
To support the Site Maintenance engineers in optimising company efficiencies through the effective planning and execution of Destiny Foods Maintenance programme: ensuring equipment and fabrication does not pose a risk to food safety or health and safety.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure all equipment and fabrication is maintained in a cost effective and timely manner to ensure site is maintained to a standard which does not pose risks to product, staff, contractors, visitors or members of public.
2. Ensure timely completion of planned maintenance, emergency call outs and repairs.
3. Support the Site Maintenance Engineer in the control of maintenance contractors: arrange service and repairs, to ensure all food safety and health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
4. Assist in ensuring the completion of maintenance records are in accordance with the (PPM’s) maintenance procedures.
5. Plan the most cost effective and timely provision of spare parts, tools PPE and equipment.
6. Maintain hygiene and housekeeping with regards to maintenance room and other maintenance and equipment storage areas.
7. Promote best working practices in all areas and departments of Destiny Foods.
8. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
9. Ensure effective staff training with regards to equipment.
10. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with staff at all levels both informally and by attending regular company meetings.
11. Ensure all legal requirements with regards to maintenance are met.
12. Ensure hygiene standards are maintained throughout Destiny Foods.
13. Support the Site Maintenance Engineer in the commissioning of new equipment in conjunction with the technical department, NPD, Stores and Production.
14. Assist in facilitating continuous improvement in the maintenance area and the implementation of improved practices to achieve maximum manufacturing, hygiene, food safety, health and safety performance and service delivery.
15. Assist in the engineering delivery of any relevant line trials and pre-production trials to ensure successful product launch.
16. Develop close working relationships with colleagues in other functions such as; Production, Stores, Hygiene, Technical and NPD.
17. Assist in ensuring all Engineering work conforms to the processes and procedures of the ‘Quality Management System’ and ‘Health and Safety Management System’.
