Summary

Salary: £11.64 an hour
Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 26th February 2026
Hours: 1116 hours a year. This is an annualised contract, with the following working pattern:
Summer (March - October)
Week A: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Week B: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Winter (November - February)
Week A: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
Week B: Wednesday, Thursday

What it's like to work here
This former cotton mill was built in 1784 and is one of Britain’s greatest industrial heritage sites. The busy estate hosts many schools programmes and events, which help bring Quarry Bank’s fascinating story to life. New areas of the estate will shortly open to the public, creating additional project-based roles. This is an exciting opportunity to work in fast growing location and the team pride themselves on being dynamic, highly motivated and passionate people.
What you'll be doing
Joining a team of passionate Storytellers, you will lead tours and talks across different venues on property, bringing to life the stories of those that lived and worked at Quarry Bank. You will deliver to a variety of audiences, including our visiting school groups from our incredibly popular learning programme, both in character and in third person.
The role is dynamic and diverse, and is a key part of our core offer that thousands of visitors enjoy every year.
Who we're looking for
dynamic and engaging individual with a love for telling and presenting stories.
great team worker, willing to be adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced visitor environment.
excellent people skills, a great ability to communicate with varying audiences
a passion for the unique experience person-led interpretation can bring a visit.
