The Role

The Money Skills Team Leader ensures the delivery of Bolton Councils Money Skills and money Advice service, offering comprehensive 1-1 assistance in debt management, participatory training to build peoples competence and confidence in budgeting and dealing with debt.

The service supports delivery of a comprehensive programme of awareness and support across banking and saving, utilities, managing credit, income maximisation and is fully integrated with the Councils Housing Options services in preventing homelessness and the Council’s wider strategic approach to the cost of living and Anti-Poverty for which the role is pivotal in the ongoing development of that work and activity.


About You

You will be energetic and enthusiastic in the delivery of a wide variety of work associated with money skills and money advice, understanding the importance of money management in enabling people to live positive healthy lives.

You will have a deep understanding of the impact of debt and cost of living upon families and how we as a team and wider partnership can help people to a better place with household finances.

You will be an excellent communicator, creative in seeking opportunities for funding and service development and be a team player within the Council and the wider Anti-Poverty partnership.
