Summary

To assist with the day-to-day running of the Medical Device Equipment Library (MDEL) and ensuring stock levels of equipment are maintained in the ward store cupboards and to communicate any short falls to the Medical Device Equipment Library Co-ordinator (MDELC) to ensure a safe and effective standard of service. Ensure a safe and timely delivery and collection service of medical devices to the Trusts Sterile Services Unit for equipment to be cleaned. Delivery and collection of damaged/broken medical devices to wards/departments and then returning them once work has been completed. Assisting with bed/mattress supply and reporting any maintenance requirements or short falls as needed to the MDEL. To help with controlling and maintaining an adequate stock level of all consumables provided for equipment supplied by the MDEL. Recognise visual faults/damaged medical devices and communicate these to the MDLE who will take remedial action. Ensure that all devices leaving the MDEL are in full working order and have an asset number and current service verification label attached. To assist with maintaining an electronic inventory of the MDEL devices and report the usage of any accessories used. Respond to requests for MDEL devices and pass a record of all requests to the MDELC. Ensure battery powered devices within the MDEL are plugged in and left on charge. Basic knowledge of Microsoft computer applications to track MDEL devices. To always maintain a pleasant customer focus, helping with delivery of medical devices considering local requirements. Able to undertake the role's frequent physical duties such as moving hospital beds and other larger equipment, carrying boxes of consumables, operating an electrical delivery trolley, etc. Ability to work autonomously under and manage own work activities Ability to communicate effectively with staff and contractors Able to capture patient information confidentially Observe and adhere to all policies and procedures within the hospital.
