We are recruiting a Senior Practitioner at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Adult Social Services Mental Health Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £40,221- £43,421 and offer access to training and development opportunities.



This post attracts a Market Supplement of £2,863 per annum on successful completion of the AMHP training.



This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and forward thinking multi-disciplinary team. You will have a varied role and must have the ability to deal with crisis situations and be expected to facilitate safe discharge for service users from hospital into the community. The Team is co-located with health colleagues who work with individuals, aged 18 and over, who experience severe and enduring mental health distress.



The successful candidate will be required to practice in accordance with National Occupational Standards for Social Work and Code of Practice for Social Care Workers to deliver assessment and care management services you will also need to have a good understanding of current legislation and policy and be expected to work closely with carers, other professionals and team members or alone using your own initiative.



Applicants must be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales. The current registration requirements state that, completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016). Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.



The successful applicant must possess Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification and Post Qualifying Awards for Consolidating Practice and Enabling Practice or equivalent. If you do not hold the Approved Mental Health Professional Award you will be expected to undertake this training, which will be funded by CCBC, in order to fulfil the role (on successful completion of this training you will be rewarded with a market supplement of £2,863 per annum).



For the role, we ask that you have:

A Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
Knowledge of the safeguarding responsibilities for social workers in working with vulnerable adults and children.
A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit clients and attend meetings.
