Summary
NIGHT CARE ASSISTANT
Purpose of position:
To share with other staff in meeting the personal and emotional needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence
To help in the care of the residents physical environment and in the general day to day activities of the home
Principle duties:
To assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing and bathing.
To care for residents temporarily sick and needing minor dressings and bed nursing etc.
To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents by talking to them, taking them out, sharing activities such as reading, writing hobbies and recreation.
To make and change beds, tidy rooms and undertake light cleaning.
After residents have had lunch, clear table, vacuum dining room and give out medication.
Generally tidy up around the home, put any washing in the washer, drying in the dryer and make any necessary repairs to residents clothing.
After each meal to wash up.
Answer and react to the fire alarm, front door, telephone and greet any visitors.
Any other duties requested by the manager, from time to time.
When going off duty take any bin bags to outside bin.
