Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Mountfield Heath School, Robertsbridge, East Sussex

Salary: £19,250 - £24,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term, Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team at Mountfield Heath School, Robertsbridge.

About the role

To work under the direct instruction of the Senior Leadership Team, usually in the designated learning environment with a Teacher, to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may sometimes be undertaken outside the main teaching area. To share the school’s responsibility to support and promote the learning, personal development and well-being of all students.

Key Result Areas

Attending to the welfare and learning needs of students.
To promote the social and emotional development of pupils through positive approaches that encourage appropriate relationships and the development of self-esteem.
Working with and leading small groups or one to one.
Undertaking general clerical/organisational support for the teacher.
General Responsibilities

Work in accordance with professional practice, statutory and legal requirements and the policies of Mountfield Heath School.
Take on specific tasks related to the day-to-day administration and organisation of the school.
Take responsibility for specific areas of work which will be reviewed annually within the performance management cycle and school improvement process.
Take on any additional responsibilities, which might from time to time be determined.

Mountfield Heath School is a new independent special educational needs provision, for 32 pupils aged 5-12. The successful candidate will be working alongside Teachers, support staff and therapists to deliver the curriculum and help nurture a therapeutic environment to meet a range of needs including social, emotional, behavioural, communication and learning difficulties.

This opportunity is in Robertsbridge which is within commutable distance of Hastings, Royal Turnbridge Wells and surrounding areas.
