Summary
We have an opportunity for a full time Building Control Inspector to join our successful team primarily based out of Mid Devon. This role sits within our NMD Building Control Partnership, which is a partnership between Mid Devon District Council and North Devon Council.

As a Building Control Inspector, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Carrying out regular site inspections throughout the partnership area
• Correspondence and discussions with applicants, their professional agents and other members of the public relating to matters controlled by the Building Regulations
• Carrying out the examination of submissions under the Building Regulations with support from Building Control colleagues
• Investigating alleged contraventions of the Building Regulations and initiation of appropriate action
As a minimum, you will have:
• A construction related qualification to NVQ 4/HNC level or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience of working in a construction related discipline for a minimum of 2 years
• A good knowledge of building construction practice and Building Control law
• The ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Registered to or working towards at a Class 2A Domestic Building Inspector Registration.
