Summary

SALARY: £45,284 per annum + Excellent Benefits

LOCATION: North-West. Must be able to travel regularly to locations across the region and occasional national travel throughout England

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Social Care Services Area Manager who has experience as a Senior Manager delivering and leading complex social care / NHS service contracts, with excellent time-management and organisational skills.

As the Social Care Services Area Manager you will engage NHS Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), developing partnerships that align with corporate strategy ‘working together to build communities that care’.

Working as the Social Care Services Area Manager you will lead their Service Managers / Contract Managers in ensuring that the services are consistently delivering high-quality, safe and person-centred care and support in line with contractual requirements.

Within your role you will have responsibility for a variety of services, including care navigation, carers support, community support services, crisis cafes, employment, helplines, peer support services, befriending and mentoring, suicide bereavement or prevention and registered groups.


DUTIES

Your duties as the Social Care Services Area Manager will include:

• Provide leadership for the services in North West as a member of the Placed Based Delivery Team

• Ensure services are delivered to budget whilst promoting organisational efficiencies

• Ensure services and contracts meet internal and external Key Performance Indicators

• Work in partnership with the Business Development and Fundraising

• Build the organisations profile and influence the commissioning landscape through establishing and sustaining collaborative relationships across the relevant public, private and voluntary sectors

• Ensure that the experiences of people using the services are reflected in the campaigns and policy activity

• Work with the colleagues across the organisation to join up and test other forms of service delivery through a wider range of funders

• Ensure that appropriate polices and processes are in place and adhered to

• Ensure that services and contracts are using appropriate reporting and recording systems and gather data which supports informed decision making

• Adopt a continuous improvement approach to the charity’s activities, identifying and supporting plans to improve/transform all elements of their work


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

• Experience as a Senior Manager delivering and leading complex social care/NHS service contracts and overseeing large budgets

• Have a deep understanding of the way in which the health and social care sector functions, particularly in relation to mental health services

• Experience of mental health practice and service delivery

• Experience of leading and managing a dispersed team across multiple sites

• Developed services and worked as part of a cross-organisational team to develop bids and proposals to grow services and have a good understanding of public sector procurement

Desirable

• A good understanding of the North West of England

• Evidence of management development in the form of a recognised management qualification (professional diploma, post graduate study etc.)

• Experience of developing and leading complex partnerships within the health and social care sector, demonstrate the ability to work generously and constructively with partner organisations, and understand how to ensure effective oversight and management required for this way of working

• Experience and knowledge of delivery to children and young people

• A qualification relevant to the delivery of health and social care services
