Summary

Job Description

Located within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability Services, the City Centre Strategy team is seeking a skilled surveying and professional property advisor to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will lead and support essential actions within the City Centre Regeneration Group workplan. The City Centre Regeneration Group includes the City Centre Strategy and City Centre Avenues teams.
The City Centre Strategy (CCS) 2024-30 has been recently approved together with its associated action plan built to deliver the aspirations of the first City Centre Strategy 2014-19, the City Centre Recovery Plan 2022-24, and address the latest changes in the context of the city centre. The action plan comprises a range of objectives, including the creation of a new Development Team, aimed at unlocking development in the city centre, the delivery of the recommendations of the District Regeneration Frameworks, of the Repurposing Action Plan, and the emerging programme for Greening the City Centre. The City Centre Strategy team works closely with the City Centre Avenues team and the NRS City Services teams to ensure that added value is maximised wherever possible.

The key responsibilities of this role will:
• Facilitate the implementation of the City Centre Strategy and its associated projects and sub-projects.
• Support the Development Team and the delivery of the Repurposing Action Plan with surveying/commercial expertise
• Efficiently allocate and manage resources to meet strategic objectives.
• Apply specialized knowledge in surveying and property development to support the objectives of the Development Team.
• Provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders directly or indirectly involved in the City Centre Strategy.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to management and committees, offering updates and progress reports, and seeking approval for City Centre Strategy projects and initiatives.
• Implement formal project management procedures to ensure rigorous oversight of City Centre Strategy projects, adhering to best practices including risk management, dependencies, cost analysis, benefits assessment, and outcome evaluation.
• Develop networks within and outwith the Council to facilitate joint working and the maximisation of strategic outcomes, and represent the Council in external forums and at events.
