Summary
Our counselling service is for unpaid carers and people over 16 and their families who are living
with long-term/terminal illness or bereavement. Dochas Carers Centre is a member of Counselling
and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA). Our counselling team has 4 fully trained and qualified
members. We also have a trained mindfulness teacher who is a valuable member of our team
and often have students on placement.
Counselling Lead: P/T, 12 hrs per week, £18.88ph, £11,781 pa. Based in Campbell Street
in Lochgilphead, responsible to Dochas Carers Centre Manager.
Job Purpose: To manage and further develop the Counselling service. The post holder must be
a qualified counsellor and ideally a supervisor. There is scope to work as a freelance counsellor for
the organisation in addition to holding this role.
