Summary
Male Personal Assistant required in the Accrington area – LILS/EM/NA
We are looking for a caring, patient person to provide support to an elderly gentleman within his own home. Our client is bed bound and non-verbal so ideally somebody with experience of working in a similar role would be an advantage.
Our clients first language is Urdu so ideally the candidate would be able to speak this language however this is not essential.
Experience or understanding of working in a care environment is essential along with knowledge/understanding of mental health conditions.
The applicant must be physically and mentally strong and able to deal with challenges.
Duties:
• Support with all aspects of personal care including toileting, bathing.
• Our client is bed bound so uses specialist equipment to be transported to/from the bathroom. No hoist is in place.
• Assisting with exercises to try and increase mobility.
• Preparing meals and feeding.
• Occasional grocery shopping.
• Domestic support including visiting the laundry and changing bed sheets.
• Driving is essential for this role so applicant must have a vehicle and proof of business insurance.
• Working alongside 1st PA until comfortable in the role then may be left alone for periods of time.
Hours:
Between 14-20 hours per week initially, with a view to increase for the right applicant.
£12.00 per hour
Must be willing to undertake a DBS check, which will be paid by the employer if necessary
