Technical Lead – Role Overview
We are looking for a Chartered Valuation Surveyor interested in becoming a Technical Leader within the Regional Valuation Unit (South).
Our Technical Leaders provide technical advice to colleagues across the network. You will be a technical expert with a natural ability to coach and nurture colleagues undertaking professional qualifications.

Technical Lead – Key responsibilities
The Chartered Valuation Surveyor – Technical Lead role is an important role supporting our future surveying talent pipeline and providing valuable technical advice, leadership, and guidance to the agency.
The role includes:
- Delivering Non-Domestic Rating casework and providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to caseworkers.
- Leading, motivating, and inspiring others to deliver results including sharing your professional knowledge to help others develop.
- Setting and maintaining a strategic overview of the framework for the work of the team, including embedding the VOA vision and values.
- Offering advice and guidance on complex issues which cannot be resolved within the normal rules or precedents.
- Providing expert witness testimony and advocacy in complex litigation at Valuation Tribunal England/Valuation Tribunal Wales/Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) and beyond. (Full training and support will be provided).
- Act as a Counsellor to colleagues undertaking profession qualifications.
