Summary

Our Adult Safeguarding Team is a small and dedicated team working with adults at risk, their networks and partner agencies to assess, undertake and cause safeguarding enquiries where there is reasonable cause of concern for an adult at risk.

One of the key functions of undertaking safeguarding enquiries is the coordination of safeguarding meetings, to undertake strategy meetings, planning and review meetings, to work with the person and all those relevant to the concern to gather information, assess risk and implement safety plans. To undertake this work, the team now require a senior social worker to complete chairing and oversight to the coordination of safeguarding meetings.

The role will also include supporting the team alongside other seniors in a supervisory role, deputising for team manager when required and representing the team within partner agency meetings.


In this role you’ll use your extensive experience and skills in social work to:

•Fully recognise the importance of ensuring that the voice of those we support is heard.

•To demonstrate a positive and flexible attitude to adapt to the needs of the person and service.

•To work autonomously but also as a team player providing supervisory advice and support to the team and when required partner agencies.

•Enable individuals to be protected and free from harm and abuse and to live a fulfilling life where their wellbeing is promoted.

•Have experience in line managing others.


We need someone who can demonstrate good working knowledge of relevant legislation, have good communication and relationship building skills, working alongside individuals, their families and/or advocates and partner agencies, to promote positive risk taking and completing safety planning within multidisciplinary setting.


On occasion you may be required to hold a small caseload or provide guidance and support via joint visits with members of the team.


Key requirements:

•Social work qualification

•SWE registered.

•Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of: The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Data Protection Act

•Evidence of ability to work to practice guidance/procedure.

•Specific experience in safeguarding work with understanding of S.42 threshold and safeguarding duties,

•Experience in supporting and managing others.
