Summary

Are you on the lookout for a new part-time job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as our amazing teams in Elgin are on the looking for new colleagues to join them as Support Practitioners.

We have permanent contracts available of 16, 20 or 25 hours per week, or relief opportunities if you're looking for something a bit more flexible.

The Role

Here at Cornerstone, the support that we provide is centred around assisting individuals to identify and work towards their goals. We work with the individuals to develop personal plans that reflect their choices, individual support needs and capabilities.

You'll support individuals to manage their own homes, increase and maintain their independence and encourage and support them with their social, health and wellbeing needs.

The people we support all have different hobbies and interests too, so we’ll need you to bring creativity and enthusiasm into supporting them to access leisure activities, engage in meaningful activities and take part in hobbies and interests that are important to them, both within their home and out in their local communities.

About You

You don’t need experience in care or qualifications to start your career with us. We are more interested in who you are as a person. We’ll invest in you by providing paid training and we’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too.

All we’ll need you to bring is:-

• Great communication skills
• A positive attitude with a solution focussed approach
• Good team working skills
• The ability to work on your own initiative
• A willingness to learn and use new systems and technology
• The ability to apply good administrative and numeracy skills to ensure that clear, accurate records are evidenced and kept up to date
• An understanding of the importance of keeping to routines and guidelines


Shift Patterns

We’re dedicated to providing the best 24/7 support, so shift patterns will involve early mornings, days and evenings. Weekends, public holidays and sleepovers will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

The sleep part of a sleepover shift isn’t included within your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional payment for £96 per sleepover worked.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
