Summary

I am a 49 year old woman with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and mental health issues.
It is important for me to access my community more and
have continuity of a regular and reliable support worker.
I require support with accessing social activities, medical appointments and help with household tasks.

9 hours per week @ £16.75 per hour.
Mondays 1pm 5.30pm - and Wednesday afternoons 1pm 5.30pm 4.5 hours on each day.
The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.
Mileage will be paid at 45p per mile.
Support with household chores including: making meals for the freezer, unpacking and putting away shopping delivery, doing a top up shop at the supermarket, collecting prescriptions, cleaning, washing, gardening and any other household tasks/admin support.
Support with driving and accompanying me to medical appointments and supporting me to attend a community group or other social activity.

Establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis
Discuss and resolve problems as they arise
Needs may vary on a daily basis, therefore hours, duties and tasks may alter form the care plan.

Needs vary on a weekly basis
Cleaning - 1.5 hours
Shopping (ad hoc on top of weekly shop) - 30 mins
Putting shopping away - 30 mins
Making meals for the freezer - 2 hours
Washing and ironing - 1 hour
Weekly going out into the community with support - 2 hours
Collecting prescriptions - 30 mins
Household admin support - 30 mins
Gardening/misc help - 30 mins
Adhoc medical appointments



Ideally you will have previous experience in the care sector.
If you have knowledge of ME/CFS that would be great, if you dont, you must have a willingness to learn about the condition and the challenges it can bring, particularly around pacing and resting.
You will need to be comfortable with silence when it is needed. Experience of working with people with mental health issues, particularly anxiety would be very welcome or an understanding of anxiety.
Someone with the skills to give me support building my confidence while promoting my independence.

Due to being clinically vulnerable I will ask you to take an LFT test weekly for Covid which will be provided.

Be a competent safe driver with access to your own vehicle is essential.

You will need to be a conscientious and hardworking person, someone who is reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy, with a cheerful sense of humour.

You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
