Title: Fire Safety Surveyor (20-40 hours) Pay £12.50 - £18.75 Per Hour
Location: London Area
This role will suit Male or Female Operative, or someone that returning back to work.
Job Summary:
idigitalhub is a fire safety company working with councils and also commercial clients to ensure Fire Safety compliance is met. As the company enters an exciting period of high growth and expansion it is seeking an enthusiastic Fire Safety Surveyor to join the growth journey. The role of the Fire Safety Surveyor will be to ensure the safety and compliance of fire doors within buildings. They will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and surveys of fire doors, evaluating their condition, and ensuring they meet the required safety standards and regulations. Following the successful completion of a three-month probationary period, there will be an opportunity to increase working hours.
Responsibilities:
• Inspection and Assessment: Conduct detailed inspections of fire doors to assess their condition, functionality, and compliance with relevant fire safety standards
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all inspected fire doors, documenting their condition, any deficiencies, and recommended actions. Prepare detailed reports summarising the results of fire door inspections and provide them to relevant stakeholders.
• Compliance: Ensure that fire doors meet the requirements of building regulations, fire safety legislation, and other applicable standards.
• Recommendations: Provide recommendations for necessary repairs, maintenance, or replacements of fire doors to rectify any issues or deficiencies identified during inspections.
• Testing: Perform fire door component testing, including checks on door frames, seals, hinges, and other associated hardware.
• Education and Training: Collaborate with building owners, managers, and residents to raise awareness of fire safety best practices and the importance of well maintained fire doors.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on changes in fire safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure up-to-date knowledge and expertise.
Qualifications:
• Fire Safety Knowledge: A strong understanding of fire safety regulations, building regulations, and relevant British Standards
• Certifications: Possess relevant certifications, such as BM Trada and IFC certification, the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) diploma or equivalent qualifications in fire door inspection and surveying. However this can also be obtained on the job, depending the transferable skill.
• 1+ years’ experience preferred: Previous experience in fire door inspection, construction, or related fields would be preferred.
Skills:
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional diligence and the ability to identify even minor issues with fire doors.
• Communication Skills: Strong English communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of stakeholders, as well as to produce clear and concise inspection reports.
• Safety Focus: A commitment to ensuring the safety of building occupants and compliance with fire safety regulations.
• Agility: Be readily available to adjust plans to business’ needs.
• Teamwork: Ability to work with a team both on-site and off-site.
