We are looking to recruit a Lead Compliance Engagement Officer for our Gas Compliance team at L&Q.



The role of Lead Compliance Engagement Officer will report to the Gas Operations Manager and will have close contact with all other areas of Property Services Directorate and the wider L&Q. This is a high impact resident facing role so outstanding customer service is crucial.



As a Lead you will manage all aspects of your teams, from day to day people management and advice, provide training and performance management, offer technical assistance and will be the point of escalation for any Compliance Engagement issues arising. The post holder will directly accountable to the performance of their compliance teams performance and KPIs.



As the point of escalation for technical advice to all stakeholders within the organisation. You will be responsible for the construction and review for current and new processes for access within the Gas Team. To analyse previous compliance access data to identify areas of improvement to improve L&Q’s compliance rating. To attend meetings on behalf of the Gas Operational Manager when required, to articulate potential performance issues that are affecting the compliance rating for L&Q.



The remit will be to provide an efficient, effective and responsive, enforcement service within L&Q’s Building Services Team. Leading on the assurance that access is obtained to all properties through the most appropriate method in accordance with ‘best practice’ and housing and health and safety legislation for the team they manage. To lead and manage cases through dialogue; persuasion; negotiation; problem solving and encouragement. To carry out personal observations, obtain photographic, audio or video evidence, incorporate the same into report and witness statements and to attend court in conjunction with same.



We are looking for someone fully conversant with all current and proposed relevant compliance legislation and regulations. Who possesses an indepth knowledge of gas servicing and asset compliance ‘best practice’ and related current legislation/regulations.



You will be required to visit individual properties where access has not been obtained for the purpose of completing the annual gas service or compliance survey and to make arrangements for completion of the outstanding inspection. The expectation is that this role will require you to be on site approximately 50% of your working time, but could vary from week to week. With this in mind we require candidates to have access to a car.



The post holder will be able to confidently liaise with Local Centre Offices to identify particular issues regarding tenancy management and to produce documentation which will assist the Local Centre Offices in progressing such.



Experience in communicating findings/ reports to senior management and ability to robustly manage both direct and indirect workloads can be provided on request.
