Summary

A friendly local social club in Oxshott is looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person who is willing to promote the club and help organize functions and events. Ideally we are looking for someone who has bar/club management experience. You must be computer literate. Any experience of food preparation would be desirable.

The Club Manager is responsible for managing, planning, monitoring and controlling all aspects of the Club and its facilities. The key aim of this role is to provide Club members with a consistently excellent customer experience by achieving and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hospitality.

The role is split between front of house (running and working in the bar, managing the bar staff) and back office (maintaining stock levels and managing the day to day running of the club).

• Ensures that all staff fully understand their obligations under the licensing legislation.
• Ensures security measures, such as successfully closing, locking doors and windows, as well as setting the burglar alarm are consistently performed by all relevant staff.
• Adheres to the Club’s fire safety procedures and ensures all appropriate staff have adequate fire-related training.
• Ensures all fire exits remain clear and are easily opened and accessible. Ensures fire doors remain closed.
• Assesses and continually monitors the health and safety aspects, maintenance
requirements, hygiene and cleanliness of the club and detects and solves related current and potential problems.
• Ensures all accidents and incidents that have or could cause injuries are logged in the accident book and bar staff are aware of the accident and dangerous occurrence procedures.
• Ensures that the Club is left secure on leaving the premises, the cellar, back office and bar cage are locked, the burglar alarm is activated, and ensures the bar staff are aware and follow the same procedures.
• Ensures that effective systems are in place to reconcile cash received, with till roll totals on a daily basis.
• Ensures cash is properly banked and that petty cash is handled in the correct manner.
• Plans and manages the purchase of wet and dry stock.
• Ensures sufficient stock is always available and that stock is in date and correctly rotated.
• Regularly reviews the product range to ensure it meets the needs of Club members.
• Plans and implements an auditable stock control system and maintains appropriate records relating to wastage, consumption, ordering and returns.
• Cleans lines from the cellar on a weekly basis before weekend trade begins, and that these are accurately logged.
• Ensures new and existing bar staff are fully trained on how to use the till and change beer barrels and optics.
• Ensures beer gas is switched off at the end of a shift and the bar staff do the same.
• Responds promptly to matters raised by members and/or their guests and ensures that all issues are dealt with accordingly and are recorded for review by the Committee.
• Keeps sensitive information confidential and informs the Committee of matters requiring their attention.
• Ensures the outside areas of the Club are kept clean and presentable.
• Ensures all new starters in the team are given full training, are reference checked, and are issued with a contract, a copy of which should be returned to the Club for filing.
• Ensures the kitchen, appliances and surface areas are kept immaculately clean to meet or excel hygiene requirements/standards.
• Ensures the bar is left clean and tidy at the end of the shift; including the cleaning of tables, emptying of bins and external ashtrays and , disposal or recyclables (before 9pm).
• Provides an electronic copy of the monthly manager’s report ahead of the monthly
Committee meetings.
