Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and committed therapy team on the inpatient rehabilitation unit at Crowborough Hospital. You will be working alongside the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to support our patients to achieve their therapy goals and give them the confidence to reach the next stage of their rehabilitation journey. You will be working as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide an essential service in our community hospitals to the local population.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and has excellent communication skills, with a strong desire to enable others to maximise independence and to be part of an innovative and forward–thinking rehabilitation team.

This post will be based at the Crowborough Community Hospital, but you may be asked to work occasionally at other local bases (Uckfield, Lewes and Haywards Heath).



This role involves working closely with patients to assess and improve their skills in activities of daily living and mobility. Your work will be directed and supervised by qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, and you will work alongside our other rehabilitation support workers and our nursing colleagues.

Your main responsibilities will be to follow a therapy treatment plan, supporting the patients with exercises programmes, functional mobility and functional tasks (such a regaining independence in personal care tasks).
You will take part in both one to one and groupwork with patients.
You will be expected to be able to have some basic IT knowledge in order that you can document in the electronic patient notes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our supportive team, and our ideal candidate will be flexible, well organised, and willing to work across sites on occasions. A willingness to learn and develop is essential, along with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant therapy and rehabilitation experience is preferred, although training will be given via completion of specific therapy competencies and further guidance as required.

Our therapy team consists of experienced occupational therapists and physiotherapists, together with a therapy practitioner and other rehabilitation support workers. We are a friendly and dynamic team that champions our patients' needs and works with them to help them achieve their goals.
