Summary
Responsibilities:
Supporting clients in their own home, including children, the elderly, people with disabilities and their families.
Duties to include:
• Bathing / washing
• Meal preparation
• Shopping
• Socialising
• Financial management
• Domestic
• Sitting service
• Overnight services
• You may on occasion need to relay vital information to others involved with the client’s care and therefore will require good writing & communication skills.
• You will need to be sensitive to people of different backgrounds and disabilities while demonstrating good communication and listening skills.
• You will need to be a caring and patient person.
• A full clean driving licence, though not essential would be an advantage.
Qualifications:
There are no formal qualifications required in applying for the position of a Domiciliary Care Worker, however any relevant work experience with looking after vulnerable people would be an advantage in a successful application.
All mandatory training will be supplied by Westhome Care Services and applicants must be willing to work towards a Health & Social Care Level 2 Diploma.
Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
