Summary

An education facility in Ashford, Surrey is looking for an experienced Estates Manager to join our growing Estates team. As the Estates Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and delivery of effective estate management routines and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures across our school premises. The position requires you to work Monday to Friday, 07:15 to 16:15, with some flexibility to accommodate certain hours and the odd weekend when necessary. We offer a competitive salary of £49,000, depending on your experience.

Job Duties

The Estate Manager job will require:

The Estates Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all facilities management services across our school estate.
Their primary goal is to ensure that our campus remains a well-maintained, safe, and secure environment for everyone who uses it.
Estates Manager will effectively utilize resources to enhance the learning experience for both students and staff.
Fire Safety Officer; responsible for the installation and maintenance of equipment.
Maintain and manage a schedule of works to ensure that the site is kept operational.
Complete all repair and maintenance tasks. Manage the efficiency of installations and plan for electricity and gas supply, heating, domestic hot water etc.
Manage the school mini buses and cover minibus routes in the absence of drivers.
Manage the day-to-day security of the school sites
Be the main key holder for the school sites.
Ensure that all work is carried out within the confines of allocated budgets.
Manage the caretakers & grounds person, ensure weekly estates meetings and monthly meetings.
Oversee the maintenance of the school grounds to a high standard; ensure grounds are litter free.

Job Requirements

D1 license desirable or willingness to complete relevant training.
Have a clean current driving license.
A current certificate in Level 3 NEBOSH, IOSH or similar H&S certs.
Excellent communication ability.
Understanding of health and safety procedures would be essential.
Well organized and apt in problem-solving
Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage with managing teams, health and safety and estates.
Attention to detail
Reliable & Flexible
Eligible to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS is desirable or willingness to complete one.
The estate manager would need to stay within proximity to the school. It is essential that the manager resides within a 30-minute driving distance. As they would respond to intruder alarms and occasionally ensure the school is securely locked up.
