Summary

Carlton le Willows are looking to appoint a HLTA to join our academy as soon as possible on a full time, temporary basis.

Your new role

As a HLTA, you will complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and academy policies and strategies. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist them in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. You will supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teachers. You will provide support to pupils, teachers and the academy in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising your advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes and to encourage pupils to become independent learners. You will provide support for pupil welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of academy life.

We have an exciting opportunity at Carlton le Willows Academy for an experienced maths HLTA to support students within our Key Stage 3 and 4 Enhanced Provision Unit.

With a maximum capacity of 16 students, our EPU operates on a tailored, individualised approach, prioritising the unique needs of each of the students who are unable to access the mainstream provision on a full-time basis, many of whom are extremely able and determined to succeed.

While your primary focus will be on the EPU, there will also be opportunities to contribute to the broader school community, enhancing your experience and impact.

This position is initially funded for a fixed term of 3 years through the local authority. However we are optimistic about securing additional funding to extend the role beyond this initial period, subject to performance and the availability of further funding.

Hours: 37 hours per week / Term Time only plus 5 Days (39 Weeks) / Temporary

If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience required for this position, then we would very much like to hear from you.

Please see the attached job description for more details on the criteria.
