Overview and Responsibilities School Cleaner Location: Darwen, Lancashire Salary: £12.04 to £12.53 p/hr Hours: 12 hours per week term time only working Monday to Thursday 2-4.30pm and Friday 2-4pm The Aurora Woodlands School is an 'Good' rated innovative provider of education and care, supporting students aged 10 - 19 with complex needs typically related to Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism and other conditions. We’re currently looking for a Part Time Cleaner working afternoons Monday - Friday, term time only. The Role: To provide a cleaning service for the school across all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, laboratories, halls, corridors, and toilets. Key Duties: Duties to include the following: Vacuum cleaning floors. Spot cleaning of spillages. Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass. Emptying and cleaning bins (daily). Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds. Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces. Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing. Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily). Undertake deep clean as and when required. Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit. Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time. Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required. Skills and Qualifications Skills and Qualifications: Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: Some knowledge of Health and Safety Regulation in regards to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials. Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Ability to prioritise work and be flexible.
