Summary
As a Ward 3 Nurse you will have the opportunity to be trained in airway management of a patient with an altered airway including tracheostomy and laryngectomys. Caring for patients pre and post-operatively as well as ICU step downs. You will be able to administer medications and nutrition through alternative routes such as NG'S, PEGS &RIGGS. whilst being able to support and guide your patients giving them the information and training needed to allow them to be independent at home on discharge. We care for our own emergency admissions and full training will be given on how to treat and monitor emergency admissions such as stridors & epistaxis patients. You will be responsible for your own team on the ward completing individualised care plans, delegating jobs appropriately, providing holistic care, whilst maintaining a safe working environment. You will work closely with an experienced and skilled MDT team to provide Gold Standard care to all our patients.
