Summary
We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work within our innovative Podiatry department. Salford Care Organisation which is part of the Northern Care Alliance is dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care.The post holder will be the clinical lead for the MSK podiatry team andwill provide leadership for research, policy, strategy and service development within this clinical area in conjunction with the Consultant Podiatrist, Operational Lead and other senior leads within the MDT.
We have a NICE compliant MDT and excellent relations with support services within the hospital, in particular Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Vascular, Microbiology and Radiology.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated clinician to provide development and leadership in the provision of a high-quality integrated acute and community MSK Podiatry service. You will be actively involved in providing ongoing education and training to a wide range of staff
We welcome applications from experienced clinicians who may not yet meet the full essential criteria outlined for our Qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) role at Band 8A.
If you demonstrate strong potential and succeed in the interview process but have yet to complete the required qualifications, we may extend an offer for a Trainee position at Band 7. Candidates in this scenario would be supported through their studies towards an MSc in Advanced Practice, or through the NHSE ePortfolio route.
The main roles will be to:
· Be an expert in the field of the therapeutic aspects of MSK, developing cross boundary working practices and integrating research evidence into practice.
· Provide innovative clinical leadership and contribute to the strategic direction and operational policies in conjunction withOperational/Professional Managerfor the Podiatry team.
· Adjust and develop the role of Podiatrists and implement service innovation across the department and local networks.
· Work with the senior Podiatry MSK team to support the development of a rehabilitation ethos, knowledge & practices for all staff working with MSK patients.
· Develop and lead on AHP research & audit that contributes to the knowledge base and clinical practice of therapy within the MSK setting linking with Academic Institutions.
· Act as a clinical advisor for MSK services relevant wider NCA and local committees, networks and working parties.
