Summary
We are offering the very exciting opportunity for a band 8a Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in pain management to join our team. The post sits within an internationally renowned pain management centre. This post would suit someone who has already had experience working in pain management and who is looking to gain experience working at 8A level.
It offers an opportunity to work with leaders in the world of pain and its management, within UCLH Foundation Hospital Trust, NHNN pain management centre: treating complex and challenging patients with chronic, long term pain.
The post offers opportunities to work within a multi disciplinary team of physiotherapists, psychologists, nurse specialists and pain consultants and the successful candidate will participate in an outpatient pain management programme, a physiotherapy led exercise group, individual physiotherapy work, joint assessments and service pathway development work, depending on service needs.

In addition to management of generalised complex persistent pain the department also offers specialised services for inpatient complex pain, joint hypermobility syndrome, neuropathic pain, abdominopelvic pain and facial pain of which physiotherapy plays a key role. This post offers ongoing supervision with physiotherapists and psychologists, regular clinical and non clinical meetings and participation within an ongoing staff education programme.
Awareness of cognitive behavioural therapy approaches, experience of working with groups and an understanding of chronic pain management is essential. An up to date knowledge of the evidence base for managing this patient group is also required.
