Summary
To be responsible for and to provide managerial and professional guidance to the Histopathology service for the Surrey section of BSPS. The purpose of the Deputy General Manager is to provide leadership for the Surrey Cellular laboratory Services. The post holder is responsible for the implementation of divisional strategy and delivery of key business goals, objectives as well as the provision of patient services that are of the highest quality and which represent value for money. To direct and manage the organisation and performance of all aspects of the Cellular Pathology services delivered across Surrey sites. To support and develop a culture of collaborative flexible cross team working and commitment to delivering high quality services and outcomes. The post holder will work closely with the General Manager Cellular Pathology, Clinical Leads, Consultants, Site Managers, Biomedical scientists as well as Associate Practitioners, Medical Laboratory Assistants and Patient Pathway Co Ordinators The post holder will be responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels, grading, skill mix, equipment, and work practices within the departments to ensure the maintenance and development of standards required for accreditation and good laboratory practice. To be responsible for managing all financial and workforce resources across the Surrey Cellular Pathology laboratories. To improve the performance and quality within the discipline by developing and promoting a clear sense of direction so that corporate and local objectives are met. To deliver a balanced budget and financial viability.
