We have two vacancies for a full time Council Tax Case Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to actively improve the Council’s income through collection of Council Tax. We are looking for a motivated individual who is keen to be part of a team who work hard to achieve ambitious targets.
Each year the Council collect’s millions of pounds of Council Tax which all contributes towards delivering essential services for our customers. The team is busy and dynamic, and you can expect to handle customer contact, carry out back-office work and be part of projects and trials to improve processes.
Within this Team it is essential for Officers to be able to handle confidential and personal information and to deal with customer enquiries in a sensitive and helpful manner. The successful candidate will be able to negotiate and have difficult conversations but will also have the ability to identify customers who require further assistance or who may be vulnerable. We also expect them to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duties of the role
As an essential member of the Council Tax team, you will be able to work in a team to collect Council Tax and resolve customer queries at point of contact.
Qualifications and skills required
We expect you to have:
Be educated to a ‘A level’ standard or have the equivalent in experience.
A high-level knowledge and/or relevant proven experience in administration of Council Tax
We also hope you have:
Experience of working directly with customers.
Excellent customer and communication skills.
The ability to deliver against personal and team targets.
