Summary

Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Functional Skills (English) at HMP Leyhill.

This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, on a Maternity Cover basis.

Day to day duties

-Organisational and administrative work
-Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.
-Enriching learning through additional projects and broader activity beyond the qualification delivery
-Developing positive learner experience on all courses

Required skills and qualifications

-A Degree, or professional qualification which is appropriate to the work.
-Teaching Qualification.
-Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent computer literacy skills including an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office.

HMP Leyhill is a Category D men's prison nestled in Tortworth, Gloucestershire. As an adult male prison with Category D status, Leyhill is a hub for residents deemed suitable for Open conditions. In partnership with Weston College, residents at Leyhill can engage in educational pursuits, ranging from English and math to IT.
